The Pharmacy Technician Intern is responsible for performing day-to-day operational and technical tasks associated with drug distribution across the hospital. This includes ensuring safe and effective drug distribution, manufacturing and compounding products, and collaborating with pharmacists.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program and registered as a Pharmacy Technician Intern with the Ontario College of Pharmacists. Preference is given to those who have registered for or completed the Jurisprudence and PEBC Qualifying Exam.
Hennick Humber Hospital, Wilson Site may be required to travel to all sites.

Ensure safe and effective drug distribution to patient care areas, utilizing central pharmacy automation and automated dispensing cabinets. Manufacturing and compounding of non-sterile and sterile products in accordance with NAPRA standards. Contribute to inventory management through receiving and barcoding of medication stock. Issuing and delivering narcotics and controlled substances to patient care areas. Enhance the safety, effectiveness and quality of care through participation in quality audits. Collaborate with pharmacists in compiling Best Possible Medication Histories (BPMH). Any other job duties as assigned.
Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program that is accredited by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) Registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Pharmacy Technician Intern In the process of completing regulatory requirements for registration as a Part A Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT), with the goal of obtaining RPhT designation within 6 months of hire Preference will be given to candidates that have registered for OR completed the Jurisprudence and the PEBC Qualifying Exam An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
