This position works as part of an interdisciplinary Mental Health and Addiction Services. Under the direction of the Mental Health and Addiction Services Manager; the Nurse Practitioner will provide Mental Health and Addiction services to the community of the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for clients in the community both independently and collaboratively with a physician, depending upon the complexity of client needs. This includes: health promotion and protection; first line treatment and emergency services; provision of supportive counselling and instruction in management of medical conditions; disease and injury prevention; initiating and conducting community needs assessments and participating in evaluative projects; and collaboration with and referral to other health care professionals as required.
