Requires a Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing or an equivalent nursing degree/diploma and at least 3 years of experience in a mental health setting. Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license, a vehicle, and current BLS and CPR certifications.

As a member of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Community Mental Health Nurse is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team providing intensive case management to individuals with chronic and persistent mental illness. These services are provided within an individual and group context. Responsibilities include intensive case management, medication management, crisis intervention, counselling, goal planning, consultation to community agencies, group/community education, student mentoring, documentation, client/family and public education, advocacy, and mental health promotion.
