Job Description

As a member of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Community Mental Health Nurse is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team providing intensive case management to individuals with chronic and persistent mental illness. These services are provided within an individual and group context. Responsibilities include intensive case management, medication management, crisis intervention, counselling, goal planning, consultation to community agencies, group/community education, student mentoring, documentation, client/family and public education, advocacy, and mental health promotion.

Experience 3 yrs exp in a MH setting working with clients with acute/chronic mental illness 3 years experience in a community or acute mental health setting Education Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing (BPN) Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) Other Education and Training Bachelor of Nursing is acceptable Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) Professional Assault Response Training (PART) Workplace Assessment & Violence Education (WAVE) Nursing diploma is acceptable Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable Competencies Advanced - Organizational skills Basic - Computer skills Basic - Presentation skills Advanced - Interpersonal skills Advanced - Facilitation skills Advanced - Communication skills Advanced - Change management skills Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge in developing policies, procedures and standards Ability to work and communicate in a cross cultural setting Ability to work independently Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Ability to be flexible and willing to change Other Information For more information on the city of Saskatoon please visit https://www.saskatoon.ca/ Must possess a valid driver's license and have a vehicle available for work. Requirements
