Candidates must be a registered Nurse Practitioner with a BScN and a certification in Primary Care NP or equivalent. A minimum of 3 years of RN experience in primary, public, or acute care and a valid driver's license are required.

This position works as part of an interdisciplinary primary health care team. Under the direction of the Urban or Rural Primary Health Care Manager, the Nurse Practitioner will provide primary health care services to the community. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for clients in the community both independently and collaboratively with a physician, depending upon the complexity of client needs. This includes: health promotion and protection; first line treatment and emergency services; provision of supportive counselling and instruction in management of medical conditions; disease and injury prevention; initiating and conducting community needs assessments and participating in evaluative projects; and collaboration with and referral to other health care professionals. Home base for this position is: 1504 Albert Street.
