Personal Care Workers support and supervise individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities in a group home setting. They are responsible for planning daily activities, preparing meals, and administering prescribed medications.
Candidates must have a minimum Grade 12 education and possess or be willing to obtain First Aid, CPR, and Safe Food Handling certifications. Previous experience in home care or childcare is preferred, and a valid driver's license is considered an asset.
The Licensed Group Home is responsible for providing guidance, support and supervision for individuals with Cognitive, Mental and Physical Disabilities that require 24/7 care.
Working 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule, Personal Care Workers support and supervise individuals with physical abilities; use a team approach to plan, organize and supervise daily activities; prepare and serve meals as planned; administer prescribed medications;
Support and supervise individuals with physical disabilities; Use a team approach to plan, organize and supervise daily activities, recreational and other services; Prepare and serve meals as planned; Assess needs of residents on an on-going basis; Maintain sanitation of Group Home; 12- hour shift with rotating schedule; Other duties as assigned by supervisor;
Suitable candidates will have a minimum Grade 12; Personal Care Worker, Continuing Care Aide or Home Health Aide Certificate or equivalent is preferred; Certified First Aide & CPR and Safe Food Handling Certificate required or willing to obtain; Previous home care or childcare experience is an preferred; Experience working with First Nations Communities is an asset; Valid Driver’s License preferred. Combination of Education and Experience may be considered; on the job training will be provided.
