The Nurse Practitioner provides advanced clinical assessment and treatment for acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions. They are responsible for ordering diagnostic tests, prescribing pharmaceuticals, and building partnerships with individuals and communities to improve health outcomes.
Requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan. Candidates must hold several certifications including PALS, BCLS, ACLS, CTAS, and TNCC.

Advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through additional education and experience. Nurse blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing with the legal authority and autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform specific procedures in the management and treatment of common acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions patients. Position practices within a framework of evidence-based primary care, holism, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention. Practice involves building partnerships with individuals, families, and communities.
