Direct Support Professionals assist individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily lives within their homes and communities. They support clients in developing skills for personal growth while ensuring they can live fully integrated lives.
Candidates must have a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check and access to reliable transportation. Preferred qualifications include 12 months of experience and post-secondary education in a related field such as Developmental Services or Child and Youth work.
DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL Direct Support Professional (DSP) employees work with people who experience developmental disabilities as they live in their homes and communities. This position assists people in their daily life, working with them and their connections to ensure that they can live fully in the community. Direct Support Professionals recognize people's rights to direct their life, understanding that each person has unique gifts and needs, and they support people to learn skills for their own growth and development.
