The Dental Assistant performs clinical duties such as taking impressions, applying sealants, and scaling under the supervision of a dentist. They are also responsible for oral health promotion and working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
Candidates must hold a National Dental Assisting Examining Board Certificate and be registered with the Manitoba Dental Association. A minimum of two years of experience as a Dental Assistant is required.

The Dental Assistant is responsible for the following scope of practice under the supervision of the Dentist; impressions, sealants, prophylaxis (polishing), scaling (if certified), x-rays, fluoride varnish, placing topical anesthetic, placing liners and oral health promotion for all clients.
