The Community Outreach Worker assists individuals and families at risk of eviction by finding rental housing and liaising with landlords. They provide short-term support to promote successful tenancies and connect clients to community resources and income supports.
Requires a minimum of 2 years of community outreach experience, a valid driver's license, and access to a reliable vehicle. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of Indigenous culture, trauma-informed principles, and strong conflict resolution skills.

$26.400-$30.53/hr

This position assists with finding housing for individuals and families recently evicted or at risk of eviction. Client services include liaising with landlords, including social housing, support in acquiring ID, accessing income supports such as EIA, and finding rental housing. The Community Outreach Worker provides short-term ongoing support to promote successful tenancies and individual well-being.
Education: Valid Drivers’ license and access to a reliable vehicle
Service Delivery Skills, Expertise and Experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in community, preferably with program's target population
Experience providing outreach with hard to hard-to-reach populations
Proven knowledge and ability in relationship-building, critical thinking, facilitation, decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
Focus on Results
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and focus work-related activities to effectively and efficiently achieve service goals and produce expected results/outcomes

Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture and traditions and the impact of colonization on the health and well-being of Indigenous individuals and families

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in the use of computer systems
Assets: Post-secondary education in a Social Services field
