The Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant will perform, order, and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic investigations/interventions, including conducting history and physical exams in various settings. Administrative duties involve standard-of-practice recording of all patient encounters using dictation or electronic medical records.
Applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba as a Physician Assistant or Clinical Assistant and eligible for a Medical Staff Appointment with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, with prior experience being preferred. Specific educational requirements differ for Physician Assistants (graduate of an acceptable PA program) versus Clinical Assistants (graduate of an accredited Medical School plus specific assessments).

The duties of this position can/will include performing history and physical exams in a variety of settings. Physician Assistants/Clinical Assistants will be required to attend clinical and educational rounds. Administrative requirements will include standard-of-practice recordings of all patient encounters, these methods may require dictating or utilizing electronic medical records where/when available. Assistants must be able to communicate effectively in English with other members of interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Candidates must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant Educational Program acceptable to the College and eligible for national certification
