Support the Child and Youth Mental Health Inpatient Unit (8-bed regional program) for children and youth under age 18.
Deliver professional nursing care as part of cross-coverage expectations within Mental Health and Addictions Programs and across RVH.
Perform physical and mental status assessments.
Make decisions regarding patient care independently and as part of the interprofessional team.
Document care accurately and in compliance with legal requirements.
Support assessment and short-term stabilization of urgent mental health problems.
Apply knowledge of psychiatric disorders and relevant mental health tools/tests in clinical practice
Requirements summary

The Inpatient unit is an 8-bed regional program supporting children and youth under the age of 18 from the Central Region who are experiencing acute mental health crisis. This program serves children and adolescents requiring admission for assessment and short-term stabilization of urgent mental health problems. In alignment with RVH core value of Working Together cross coverage within the Mental Health and Addictions Programs and across RVH is an expectation to support organizational Human Resource needs as they arise.
