Requirements summary

  • Grade 12 plus a Medical Office Assistant certificate (or proof of course completion) and two years recent related experience in a health care setting (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
  • Completion of an administered typing certificate of at least 40 wpm within the last 24 months from an approved institution (non-supervised tests not accepted).
  • Valid BC Driver’s License as required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer word processing, spreadsheet applications, and specialized clinical information systems.
  • Ability to utilize and understand medical terminology.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work effectively in a fast-paced health centre environment.

Kamloops Northshore Urgent and Primary Care Centre has an exciting opportunity for Relief full-time Medical Office Assistant to join their team in Kamloops, B.C. Hours of work are days/evenings rotating 07:00 to 15:08, 10:52 to 19:00 Position end date: Return of Incumbent

Escorting patients to examination/treatment rooms and ensuring appropriate instruments, procedure trays or other supplies are set up; Attending sensitive examination procedures and treatments; routine measurements - weight, BMI calculations, eye exams, urinalysis.
