Provide daily life assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities to help them live fully within their homes and communities. Support clients in learning new skills for personal growth and development while respecting their rights to direct their own lives.
Candidates must provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check and have access to reliable transportation. Preferred qualifications include 3-6 months of experience and post-secondary education in developmental services or a related field.
DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL Direct Support Professional (DSP) employees work with people who experience developmental disabilities as they live in their homes and communities. This position assists people in their daily life, working with them and their connections to ensure that they can live fully in the community. Direct Support Professionals recognize people's rights to direct their life, understanding that each person has unique gifts and needs, and they support people to learn skills for their own growth and development.
