The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for obtaining quality blood samples and other specimens from patients, conducting various patient tests, and assisting in building a positive team environment while maintaining quality metrics. Key duties include performing venipuncture, sorting specimens, conducting ECGs and Holter Hookups, and ensuring all documentation is correctly completed for transportation.
Candidates must have completed Secondary School and a Laboratory Assistant training program or a Medical Lab Assistance course with specialized phlebotomy training. Essential requirements include being customer-focused, demonstrating skill in phlebotomy, the ability to manage anxious patients calmly, and being extremely detail-oriented with proficiency in English.
