The nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for individual pediatric patients and their families. They must maintain professional competence and provide learning experiences to promote wellness and quality of life.
Candidates must have current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, CPR certification, and a Vulnerable Sector Check. A Baccalaureate Degree of Nursing and at least 2 years of pediatric experience are preferred.

Effectively uses the nursing process Practices according to the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Hospital, and the patient service unit Provides appropriate learning experiences for the patient and family to promote or maintain wellness, and to achieve an optimal quality of life Is accountable for maintaining competence while developing the quality of his/ her professional nursing practice Qualifications Current Certification of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Essential) Current CPR Certification (Essential) Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential) Minimum 2 years pediatric experience or other appropriate combinations of education and experience, along with the demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position, may be considered in lieu of stated education and experience (Preferred) Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills (Essential) Demonstrated culturally sensitive approach to nursing care (Essential) Demonstrated strong family centered care skills (Essential) Baccalaureate Degree of Nursing (Preferred) Bilingual (English/ French) (Preferred) *Timeline may be extended or shortened based on operational needs. *Please note you will be represented by the Ontario Nurses Association, (ONA).
