The Registered Veterinary Technologist will provide high-quality emergency medical care to patients in a collaborative teaching environment. Centre is currently welcoming a Registered Veterinary Technician or Technologist to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated technicians to expand their knowledge and practice very high-quality emergency medicine with a board-certified emergency and critical care specialist. Our RVT's have extensive exposure and involvement in patient care for specialty patients, providing a rich variety of cases. Including Dentistry, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Radiology, Dermatology, Surgery and Anesthesia. The philosophy of the C.A.R.E. Centre is to provide exceptional patient care in a progressive and cooperative teaching environment. Key Responsibilities Support veterinarians with examinations, treatments, surgical procedures and other procedures Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals Collect and prepare laboratory samples (blood, urine, fecal) and perform diagnostic testing as required Take and process diagnostic radiographs and assist with imaging procedures Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients, including monitoring recovery and patient comfort Educate clients on treatment plans, medications, preventative care, and post-procedure instruction Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in the hospital management system Prepare and maintain examination rooms, treatment areas, and surgical suites Ensure equipment and instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained Collaborate with veterinarians and hospital team members to support efficient workflow and high-quality patient care Provide mentorship or guidance to veterinary assistants and students Schedule The schedule provides great balance, with two days on/two days off/five days on/five days off (including every other weekend off) including an ER premium. This schedule rotates monthly between days, swing and overnights (including an overnight premium). Flexibility is an asset but we work to promote great work-life balance.
