About the role

Provide on-site medical care, after-hours services, and on-call coverage for residents.

Conduct move-in and annual physical examinations and provide ongoing medical orders.

Document resident assessments and maintain complete health records.

Develop and guide medical care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary village team.

Provide medical direction to neighbourhood teams.

Participate in the Medical Advisory Committee and quality improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with clinical and medical leadership to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate village medical services.

Support infection control, outbreak management, and long-term care compliance reviews.

Participate in care planning with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Support mentorship and education of clinical team members

<p><strong>Our Village of Humber Heights, located in Etobicoke has an exciting opportunity for an ATTENDING PHYSICIAN to join their village team.</strong></p> <p><strong> At Schlegel Villages you can be YOU while being part of OUR Family.</strong></p> <p><strong>As a new Attending Physician, joining our village, you need to:&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Maintain good Standing with the College of Physicians within the Province of Ontario</li> <li>Have current knowledge of geriatrics, gerontology, and chronic disease management</li> <li>Participate in the Medical Advisory Committee and Quality Improvement initiatives</li> <li>Collaborate with the clinical and medical leadership to develop, implement, monitor &amp; evaluate the Village Medical Services</li> <li>Document resident assessments and maintain complete health records at move-in and each subsequent visit</li> <li>Work in collaboration with the Village Multi-disciplinary team to provide guidance for the medical care plans for each assigned resident</li> <li>Provide move-in and annual physical examinations and on-going medical orders for the care of residents</li> <li>Deliver standard on-site hours and reasonable after hours and on-call services to the village and arrange coverage when not available</li> <li>Provide medical direction to the neighbourhood teams</li> <li>Assist in village wide issues such as infection control management and out-break management</li> <li>Support MLTC compliance reviews</li> <li>Participate in care planning with families, residents and a multi-disciplinary team</li> <li>Demonstrate knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation and regulations applicable to the long-term care sector, including the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 and Health &amp; Safety</li> </ul> <p><strong>As a new Attending Physician joining our Village, you will:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of clinical care to our residents.</li> <li>Collaborate with the village team and the medical director on quality resident care and support the mentorship and education of clinical team members</li> </ul> <p><em>At Schlegel Villages we are redefining elder care through </em><a href="https://the-ria.ca/about-ria/about-us/our-history/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>innovation</em></a><em>, </em><a href="http://schlegelvillages.com/about" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>Village design</em></a><em> and </em><a href="http://schlegelvillages.com/culturechange" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>culture</em></a><em> change, but we know the key to our Village success, and our residents&rsquo; satisfaction, is YOU and our teams.</em></p> <p><em>We aspire to provide all members of our communities, including team members, with a life enriching experience. Requirements
