The midwife provides autonomous maternity and newborn care across various settings including homes, clinics, and hospitals. They work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care from pregnancy through six weeks postpartum.
Candidates must be graduates of a CMM-approved program with active registration with the College of Midwives of Manitoba. Required certifications include BLS and NRP with intubation, along with a valid Class 5 driver's license and vehicle insurance.
The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health‐Santé Sud. Experience Not Applicable Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Graduate of an educational program approved by the College of Midwives of Manitoba (CMM).
Certification/Licensure/Registration Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Current Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification with intubation. Active/eligible registration with the College of Midwives of Manitoba.
