Job description

Position Summary

  • Are you a Adult Mental Health and Addictions Clinician looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Adult Withdrawal Management Unit department. In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Team Lead or designate, the Adult Mental Health and Addictions Clinician as part of a multidisciplinary team this Clinician is responsible for providing assessment, therapeutic intervention and case management for persons admitted to the Adult Withdrawal Management Unit for Acute Substance Withdrawal Management and/or Mental Health issues. Provides, supports, guidance and education to substances users and/or Mental Health clients and their families as identified through assessment. The incumbent will be expected to work within the framework of Harm Reduction in substance use, promoting the benefits of this approach. This position requires flexibility and a strong commitment to connect with youth in their environment. The incumbent is responsible for the creation of treatment plans and carrying out group activities to improve or maintain the youth’s level of physical, mental and social functioning. Qualfications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Health-related Science.
  • Two years experience in Mental Health and Addictions.
  • CPR and Foodsafe Certification. Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, families, members of the multidisciplinary team and the public.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Ability to organize work and implement a plan of care.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
