Provide psychosocial assessments, therapeutic interventions, and support to children and youth with neurodevelopmental disorders within an interdisciplinary team. Assist families in accessing community and financial resources while supporting the training of social work students.
Requires a Master's Degree in Social Work and membership in the Ontario College of Social Work and Social Service Workers. Candidates must have at least 3 years of clinical experience with children and youth, specifically in rehabilitation or neurodevelopmental disorders.
Within Developmental Pediatrics and Rehabilitation, the Social Worker will be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team, providing psychosocial assessments, individual and group intervention, psychoeducation, consultation, and support to clients and families. The Social Worker will also provide advocacy and assistance to families needing access to community and financial resources for children and youth from 0 to 18 years old. Urgent and crisis services may be part of the required supports. As part of a teaching hospital, the Social Worker will also have an opportunity to be involved in supporting and training social work students and other allied health professionals.
