Requirements summary

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (with ICES equivalency confirmation if obtained outside Canada).
  • Minimum 1 year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families providing community-based mental health services.
  • Registered or eligible for immediate registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Valid class 5 BC Driver’s licence with no restriction (or equivalent from another Canadian Province).
  • Preference for additional experience in eating disorder services and/or therapy modalities (e.g., DBT, EFFT, family-based treatment, CBT for eating disorders).
  • Preference for certification in family therapy (e.g., CAMFT) and experience delivering family therapy.
  • Ability to meet willingness/proviso requirements in the job profile.
  • Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) required.

$84,377.23 - $117,319.15 annually Close Date 7/2/2026 Job Type Regular Full Time Temporary End Date Ministry/Organization BC Public Service -> Children & Family Development Ministry Branch / Division North Fraser Child and Youth Mental Health Job Summary The Team Join a highly skilled and compassionate Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) team where collaboration, connection, and meaningful impact are at the heart of the work. The North Fraser Eating Disorder Team is a well-established regional multidisciplinary team supporting children and youth (ages 4–18) and their caregivers through complex eating disorder recovery. Our team of experienced clinicians, physicians, and pediatricians works closely with community and hospital-based partners, as well as generalist CYMH clinicians, to provide comprehensive, family-centred care. We value strong clinical practice, continuous learning, and supporting one another while also making space for humour and connection. Together, we are dedicated to creating life-changing outcomes for young people and families. The Role As an Eating Disorder Clinician, you will provide assessment, education, and treatment for youth experiencing Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Avoidant Restrictive Feeding Intake Disorder, with a strong focus on caregiver involvement and strengthening family systems. You will work collaboratively within a regional specialized team and alongside general CYMH clinicians, with access to consultation, shared expertise, and ongoing professional growth. Qualifications

  • Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
  • Minimum of one (1) year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.

    • Six (6) months or more experience or training providing group and/or individual therapy to youth and the families who struggle with emotion dysregulation, high-risk behaviours and/or safety concerns. Therapy examples include Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Radically Open Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Family Based Treatment, or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for eating disorders.
    • Certification in family therapy (e.g. CAMFT Canadian Association for Couple and Family Therapy).
    • One (1) or more years of experience delivering family therapy and supporting parents of children and youth with complex mental health presentations.

    • Position: This position is based in Port Moody. Travel between the communities within the North Fraser Service Delivery area is required (Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Burnaby, New Westminster, Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge). This position is also posted as a SPO MH 24 under REQ 124013 Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to one (1) day at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement. An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies. A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
