Job description

As a member of the Satellite Health Facility, the Occupational Therapist will, in collaboration with the client, family and multidisciplinary team, assess individual needs, plan, and implement programs for individuals with a major focus on discharge planning and community liaison. The SHF operates as part of the Community and Population Health Program and is approved to conclude on or before March 31, 2027. Occupational Therapists (OTs) recruited for the SHF are hired into permanent positions through the Nursing Resource Team (NRT).

  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario 2.
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of O.T. skills and techniques 3.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide the following assessment services: functional (COPM), lifestyle and cognitive (CCT) 4.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide assessment and treatment interventions for clients 5.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to the discharge planning process 6.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with students from multidisciplines 7.
  • Demonstrated ability in program evaluation, Q.A. and research 8.
  • Demonstrated communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills
