Develop and maintain training plans for foster parents while ensuring the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of children in care. Coordinate psychiatric and academic assessments and facilitate relationships between youth and their birth families.
Requires a post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Services and at least 2 years of frontline human services experience. Must possess a Class 5 driver's license, First Aid Level C, and clear criminal record checks including the vulnerable sector.
Our Foster Care program in Olds is seeking a Full Time Permanent Foster Care Support Worker
Foster Care provides safe, caring homes to children and youth ages 0 to 18 who, for a variety of reasons, are unable to live with their own families. Committed and highly skilled staff and foster parents ensure that individual social, educational, emotional and physical needs of the children are met until they are able to return home, are adopted or another permanent solution is arranged for their care. Children are eligible for Foster Care if they have been removed from a home situation and are determined by Child and Family Services as needing an alternative home.
$27.28 - $30.51 per hour. Wage to be negotiated based on education and directly related experience.
40 hours per week. Candidates must be available to work select afternoons, evenings and weekends to provide programming that serves a wide range of populations.
This position will be based out of Olds, Alberta travel will be required throughout Central Alberta, travel paid at $0.57/KM
