As a member of an interdisciplinary team and under the supervision of the Team Leader, the incumbent will be responsible for creating a therapeutic environment in which you will deliver a high standard of care by counseling clients who are diagnosed with chemical dependency and Mental Health concerns. Responsibilities include providing informational programming as well as individual and group therapy sessions, assess for both physical and mental health problems, liaise and assist detox physicians with their detox practice, provide backup nursing services for the Harm Reduction Methadone Program and Drug Treatment Court and liaise with acute care facilities as per referrals into Addiction Services. You will also be expected to assist EMTs in performing their tasks, monitoring and occasionally providing Phlebotomy services at Detox. As a nurse you will administer medications and drug screening tests as required. You will provide medication education to clients and assist medical consultants for the Brief /Social Detox, Methadone Clinic and Drug Treatment Court and other nursing duties as required.
