Requires a Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing or an equivalent nursing diploma and five years of experience in mental health. Must hold a Basic Life Support certificate and be registered or eligible for registration with the CRPNS or CRNS.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide case management services that promote, preserve and restore the mental health of people who have a long term psychiatric disability through leadership, care and service. The Community Mental Health Nurse is a member of a team which delivers services in the rehabilitation program. This person is accountable to SHA policies and guidelines, accepted standards of nursing practice and professional ethics and the Mental Health Services Act.
