Requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Nurse Practitioner, and registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan. Candidates must have three years of experience as a Registered Nurse and one year of experience in community development or health promotion.

Advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through additional education and experience. Nurse blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing with the legal authority and autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform specific procedures in the management and treatment of common acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions patients. Position practices within a framework of evidence-based primary care, holism, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention. Practice involves building partnerships with individuals, families, and communities.
