The Community Resource Worker assists adults with intellectual and emotional needs in their homes and the community. Responsibilities include providing personal care, transportation, budgeting assistance, and fostering positive working relationships.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma, a valid Class 5 Driver's License with a reliable vehicle, and First Aid/CPR certification. Experience with intellectual disabilities and post-secondary education in disability services or mental health is preferred.
ADULT FAMILY SUPPORTS - Community Resource Worker (Casual)
New Directions is a social service agency offering a wide range of resources and services that foster people’s hopes and dreams in their communities.
Adult Family Supports (AFS) is one of the many services offered by New Directions. AFS provides services for adults living in various settings including the family home, transitional or long-term care facilities. The Community Resource Worker is part of a team responsible for assisting individuals with their personal and day-to-day living needs in their homes and in the community. The role of the Community Resource Worker is to create positive working relationships with those being supported while responding to their unique needs, including physical, intellectual, spiritual and emotional.
The starting salary range for all casual employees is $17.3239 per hour.
The successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Record and Adult/Child Abuse Registry Checks; and must supply a satisfactory driver’s abstract.
