Provide individualized support to youth to help them develop and solidify independent living skills such as budgeting, self-care, and community integration. Assist clients with daily living activities and support their goals regarding education, employment, and mental health.
Requires a Grade 12 diploma and post-secondary education in a related field like Disability and Community Support. Candidates must have a valid Class 5 Driver's License and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health challenges.

New Directions is a non-profit social service agency offering a wide range of resources and services that provide supports in a variety of settings and foster people’s hopes and dreams in their communities. The organization’s mission is to provide responsive and individualized services that foster the hopes and dreams of people and their communities. Throughout the organization, staff and leadership work in many fields and in variety of shifts to deliver quality service and supports.
The Youth Supported Independent Living Program, offers supports for youth who have develop more basic skills to live independently with supports and are interested in starting to live more independently as they continue working towards their adult life goals (i.e., work, education, relationships, self-care, life in community, etc.), and solidify their independent living skills (i.e., fully manage their budget, keep up with work and education responsibilities independently, use community resources, take care of their mental and physical health, connect with significant others and community meaningfully).
The salary for all casual positions is $17.3239 per hour to start. Eligible increases will be applied as per policy. There are no minimum hours guaranteed for this position.
The successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Record, Child/Adult Abuse Registry, and Prior Contact checks. In addition, applicants will be required to provide a copy of their Driver’s License and a current Driver’s Abstract.
