Provide direct support and daily living assistance to adults with intellectual, physical, or mental health disabilities within a home-share environment. Foster community inclusion, develop life skills, and collaborate with case managers to ensure high-quality care.
Applicants must have a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and a home that meets provincial licensing standards. Clear criminal record, child and adult abuse registry checks, and current First Aid/CPR certification are required.
New Directions is a social service agency offering a wide range of resources and services to help foster people's hopes and dreams in their communities.
The Adult Home Share Program helps to empower adults with disabilities to live fulfilled lives. Our vision is for people we support to be treated with respect and be fully included in the community they choose. The Adult Home Share Program works exclusively with adults who live with an intellectual disability, who may have a physical disabilities and medical concerns, or mental health challenges.
In addition to the requirements listed in the sections below, Adult Home Share Winnipeg is currently seeking single males or females and couples with no children who live in central areas of the city or neighborhoods where public transit is easily accessible; applicants who are open to having pets in their home; applicants who live in accessible environments, where a walker or wheelchair could be used.
*At this time, we are specifically looking for home share providers with no children or youth under the age of 18 living in the home.
