Perform routine housekeeping and laundry tasks, including deep cleaning and disinfection, to maintain a comfortable environment for residents. Ensure safe operation of equipment, manage linen inventory, and comply with health and safety protocols.
Candidates must be able to perform heavy lifting and possess a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen. Experience in institutional housekeeping is an asset, and proficiency in English is required.
Performs housekeeping/laundry tasks in an efficient and cooperative manner according to the established schedule, and with due consideration for the residents Performs routine deep cleaning according to established schedule Cleans and disinfects the building Labels residents' personal clothing items clearly and accurately Maintains accurate inventory record of linen and laundry supplies Ensures safe operation of dryer and regular cleaning of lint from dryer Ensures exits and corridors are clear of blockages, and actively participates in fire and disaster drills and procedures and carrying out the duties assigned Replenishes supplies as appropriate Complies with the health and safety policies to minimize the risk to residents, clients, coworkers and self Complies with sanitation and infection control procedures Keeps up-to-date with developments and best practices in the field Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Able to perform heavy lifting tasks and visual acuity for inspecting linens and to ensure cleaning tasks are performed to standard Some experience in institutional housekeeping or laundry is an asset Excellent customer service skills Must be comfortable using computer/phone applications Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English. Ability to communicate in Chinese an asset.
