Essential
Duties and Responsibilities
Second circulator with a first circulator RN present in the OR.
Ability to stand scrubbed for many hours and to meet the physical demands of the position.
Collaborates with all members of the health care team.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies, medication administration and storage procedures and controlled substances regulations.
Documents patient care appropriately in the medical record.
Participates cooperatively and communicates effectively with team members
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies.
Participates in educational programs as required.
Assists with the orientation and support for new staff to the facility.
Performs related duties as assigned by leader.
Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
Completion of an accredited licensed practical nurse education program combined with 2 – 3 years recent experience in acute care day surgery/inpatient surgery environment.
Active/eligible for registration and practice permit with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals.
Completion of a post-secondary educational institution perioperative nursing program.

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Ability to perform consistently in a highly organized, rapid moving, complex environment.

The ability to cope and effectively perform in stressful and/or emergent situations is essential.
Excellent assessment, organization, communication and team interaction skills.
Current immunization for hepatitis B, influenza, measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, and diphtheria.
Current tuberculin skin testing (within 6 months before date of hire).
