The RPN coordinates and evaluates patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team within the SHF. They provide nursing care according to established standards of practice for Registered Practical Nurses.
Requires a current CNO registration as an RPN and BCLS certification. Candidates must have documented training in IV administration, wound care, and other clinical nursing procedures.
Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification Current certificates or current Community College studies in asepsis, wound care, airway management, complex wound care, patient assessment, urinary catheterization, administering enteral feeds, Medication administration, transcribing orders Documented completion of a recognized IV course that includes IV medication administration, venipuncture and blood and blood product administration Demonstrated experience in working with an interdisciplinary team Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and other members of the healthcare team Ability to set priorities and organize work in response to patient needs Demonstrated excellent communication skills both written and verbal Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and shifting demands
