Your opportunity

• As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), you will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient care in this specialized area.
• The PACU RN will demonstrate a professional and caring approach to patients and families using the primary/team nursing model.
• The PACU RN must come with a minimum of 5 years of Acute Surgical Nursing experience, including Critical Care, Emergency Department and/or the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
• The PACU RN also must have strong organizational and prioritization skills, and functions autonomously in the PACU setting.
• The PACU RN participates in collaborative practice with other members of the multidisciplinary health care team.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making for the best course of action in providing patient care.
• Leadership, teamwork, educate and orientate nursing staff members.
• Provide post-operative patient care including patient assessment, vitals, & medication administration in the PACU setting.
