The Foot Care Nurse provides clinical foot care services and primary care support to clients, focusing on disease prevention and health promotion. They work within an interprofessional team to address the physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of diverse and vulnerable populations.
Candidates must be a registered RN or RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario and hold certification in Basic and Advanced Foot Care. At least one year of experience in foot care and a valid driver's license are required.
RN/RPN with current College of Nurses of Ontario registration in good standing. Minimum one year Foot Care Nurse Experience. Certification in Basic and Advanced Foot Care is required to perform clinical activities according to the College of Nurses standards for nursing practice. Thorough knowledge and proficiency in current nursing procedures, nursing assessment, physical assessments and treatment measures. Working with populations that are under housed and living with current or past substance use requiring support with complex care. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills. Ability to work both independently, and collaboratively, within interprofessional team environment. Experience working with electronic medical records Utilizes professional assessment skills to identify physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of clients. Has awareness of and sensitivity to health issues particularly within individuals who face barriers to accessing care (under housed, living with mental health challenges or diagnoses, current or past substance use, complex health histories, 2SLGBTQIA+, newcomers, non-insured). Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
