The Mental Health Worker I provides day-to-day care by delivering rehabilitative services to individuals with major mental illness within the ACCS program, focusing on teaching daily living skills to promote independence. Responsibilities include assisting in treatment plan development, maintaining a trauma-informed atmosphere, engaging clients in meaningful activities, and ensuring proper medication education and administration.
Minimum entrance requirements are none, but incumbents must pass MAP certification within six months if working in a MAP unit and must possess a valid Massachusetts Class D Driver's License or equivalent. Experience in the human service field, especially with individuals with mental illness, is preferred, as is bilingual capability in Portuguese, Spanish, or Khmer.
Bilingual (Portuguese, Spanish, Khmer) or multilingual CPR and First Aid Certification Experience in the human service field and specifically experience with individuals with mental illness or other disabilities. DMH Mission Statement:
