Key Responsibilities Hold a valid Veterinarian license permitting practice in Canada Maintain a full schedule of 10 appoints mixed appointments per shift while allowing flexibility to address walk-ins Provide preventative care including; vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutrition, laboratory screening and wellness planning Provide routine dental care, including examinations and cleanings, and identify opportunities for preventive or follow-up treatment Support senior pets by monitoring health, managing chronic conditions, and providing preventive care to maintain quality of life Build trusted relationships with pet owners through clear communication and compassionate care Perform routine surgical procedures such as spay and neuter, laceration repair and umbilical hernia Maintain accurate medical records and follow best practices in patient care and hospital protocols Collaborate within a team-based veterinary medicine environment, recognizing the importance of every role in delivering exceptional client and patient care Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree (DVM) Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Canada (full license) Minimum 1 full year experience post graduation Confident working on your own and performing routine elective surgeries and other common procedures Provide veterinary dental care for dogs and cats, including comprehensive oral examinations, professional dental cleanings with scaling and polishing Comfortable performing dental radiographs and, for experienced clinicians, extractions or other advanced dental procedures A commitment to providing heart-centered care and high-quality veterinary medicine What VCA Canada Offers VCA Canada Student Loan RRSP Program – Ask us more!
