The Specialist Physician is responsible for providing specialized medical services to adult patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex medical and gastrointestinal conditions. They will examine patients, order diagnostic tests, prescribe treatments, and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Candidates must have a medical degree, complete residency in Internal Medicine, and accredited subspecialty training in Gastroenterology. Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the provincial College of Physicians and Surgeons are also required.
