Interior Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at Vernon Jubilee Hospital in Vernon, BC.   • Provides nursing care to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
  • Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice

  • Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned This is a Relief Part-time (0.84FTE) ending September 17, 2027, or until the return of incumbent. Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:00 to 19:15, 19:00 to 07:15 . About this Location Our Patient Services Tower has been completed and we have moved into our new Critical Care unit. The floor plan is 4 times the size of the vacated space with room to expand to 16 beds. The new space offers a large, bright working area with wide halls, and lots of storage areas with windows surrounding the whole unit. The new unit was designed to focus on the family unit as a whole being and the new ICU has three family areas; a waiting room, a quiet room and a family overnight room, the natural light and the private rooms make for a positive experience for patients and family members. Vernon, BC, is a picturesque city in the Okanagan Valley, known for its stunning lakes, outdoor recreation, and vibrant community.   • Graduation as a Registered Nurse from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Advanced preparation in a critical care clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 3 years.

Requirements

Graduation as a Registered Nurse from an approved school of nursing.. Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.. Advanced preparation in a critical care clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education and experience.. Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within three years.
