Position Summary

Practice Details Join a busy, comprehensive vascular surgery practice alongside two current vascular surgeons as part of a three-surgeon regional service providing care to a catchment of approximately 500,000 people across British Columbia's Interior. As one of two Interior Health tertiary referral hospitals, RIH is a no refusal centre with an Emergency Department that receives over 250 major trauma and 72,000 visits per year. This position offers an exceptional mix of complex open and endovascular aortic surgery, including EVAR, TEVAR, open aortic surgery, dialysis access creation, pacemaker insertion, acute and chronic limb ischemia, and carotid revascularization, supported by a collaborative multidisciplinary team and a strong regional referral network. The vascular surgery service also operates and oversees a dedicated vascular ultrasound laboratory, making experience with vascular ultrasound interpretation essential; RPVI designation is highly recommended. The practice is supported by newly renovated operating rooms in Royal Inland Hospital's new patient care tower, providing a modern surgical environment for both open and endovascular procedures. Looking ahead, the program is entering an exciting new era with the planned installation of a state-of-the-art Philips Azurion hybrid operating room, with completion anticipated in early 2027, providing outstanding opportunities to further expand advanced endovascular and hybrid vascular procedures in a modern, purpose-built environment. Join the current Vascular Surgeons in a varied practice that includes open and endovascular surgery, renal vascular access, and pacemaker implantation. Community referrals, emergency and in hospital consults, along with the Vascular Lab ensures a busy and broad-based practice. On call remuneration is Level I through the provincial MOCAP program. There are also teaching opportunities as RIH is a UBC site for Medical Students and Family Practice Residents.
