Position Summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Medical Laboratory Department at Kelowna General Hospital, in Kelowna, B.C. The Technologist performs technical work involved in the Molecular Microbiology Program. The Technologist performs nucleic acid amplification testing (NAAT) on clinical specimens, evaluates and verifies results, prepares related reports and performs notifications as required. Field of practice for this position is: Microbiology This is a Relief Full Time (1.0) position. Shifts of work will be scheduled rotating days and evenings. Qualfications Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program Successful completion of recognized competency assessment exam and registration in the relevant field(s) of practice: Microbiology, in accordance with the Canadian Alliance of Medical Laboratory Professionals Regulators (CAMLPR) pathways, or certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS). Two (2) years recent related experience
