  • Practices in a perinatal clinical setting and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care
  • Works in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Ensures the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs
  • Demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities This is a Relief Full Time opportunity until December 31, 2027, or the return of the incumbent. Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 hours. About this Location Penticton Regional Hospital serves a large geographical area stretching from Summerland to Osoyoos and across to Princeton. We have an active Perinatal Committee that works hard to ensure excellent standards of care. We are a Regional Hospital that delivers 500-600 babies per year. Our unit is comprised of 4 delivery rooms, 7 postpartum beds and 5 female med-surg beds. We are a unit of RN’s and LPN’s with great team spirit. We work closely with all our maternity care providers including Obstetricians, Pediatricians, Family Physicians and Midwives. We are into year 7 of the moreOb program and are currently participating in a National Quality Improvement Collaborative that will ensure Baby Friendly Designation by 2021.   • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Advanced preparation in a Perinatal clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Current Fetal Health Surveillance
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NPR) within 2 years
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 3 years

Requirements

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.

Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.

Advanced preparation in a perinatal clinical specialty or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Current Fetal Health Surveillance certification.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification within the past 2 years.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification within the past 3 years
