About the Position

The Public Health Nurse will be responsible for the provision of nursing interventions which promote and preserve the health of communities, families and individuals across the lifespan; functions as part of a multi-disciplinary team planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs and services; uses principles of community development to identify health issues, advocates for policy change; applies innovative health promotion strategies to facilitate healthy living in the community.

Qualifications

and Competencies:

  • BScN including preparation in public health nursing
  • Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses
  • Experience in community-based service delivery
  • Self-starter demonstrating initiative and with the ability to take appropriate action/direction
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of community assessment, knowledge and understanding of the core functions and approaches of public health practice, understanding of health promotion strategies, and project management skills

    Compensation & Benefits
