About the role

The Personal Support Worker provides person-centered care, including assistance with daily living activities, personal hygiene, and mobility. They also support clients with complex medical needs, such as tracheostomies and ventilators, while monitoring and reporting changes in condition to the nursing team.

Job Summary

As a PSW with Carecor, you will provide person-centered support with activities of daily living, personal care, mobility, nutrition, and social engagement. Working across a variety of care settings, you will play an important role in promoting independence, dignity, safety, and overall well-being. This is a casual position offering flexible scheduling based on operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centered care and support with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, and nutrition.
  • Assist technology-dependent clients with daily routines and personal care needs.
  • Support clients with tracheostomies and ventilators under the direction of the nursing team.
  • Monitor and report changes in client condition to the nursing team.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and support care plan implementation.
  • Promote the health, safety, dignity, and well-being of clients.
  • Collaborate with families, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to provide quality care.

Qualifications

  • Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate from a recognized institution.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex medical needs, developmental disabilities, and/or technology-dependent care is an asset.
  • Experience providing personal care, mobility assistance, nutrition support, and activities of daily living.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (or ability to obtain one).
  • Demonstrated commitment to person-centered care, professionalism, and safety standards.
  • Current member of HSCPOA (Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority) preferred

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate and current CPR/First Aid certification. Experience with complex medical needs and a valid Vulnerable Sector Check are required.
