About the role

Job Summary

Carecor Health Services is seeking dedicated and compassionate Child & Youth Workers (CYWs) to support children and adolescents with behavioural, emotional, developmental, and complex needs in the Greater Toronto Area.

As a CYW with Carecor, you will provide person-centered support through crisis intervention, behavioural support, life skills development, and individualized care strategies. You will help foster resilience, independence, and positive social development while creating a safe and supportive environment for young people. This is a casual position offering flexible scheduling based on operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Candidates must have experience providing direct support services, including but not limited to:
  • Provide person-centered support to children and youth with behavioural, emotional, and developmental needs.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, hygiene, dressing, nutrition, and mobility.
  • Support children and youth through behavioural and emotional challenges using crisis intervention and behavioural support strategies.
  • Foster independence, social skills, and positive coping skills through daily interactions and programming.
  • Monitor, document, and report changes in behaviour, well-being, and support needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and health & safety standards.
  • Participate in ongoing training, quality improvement initiatives, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Child and Youth Worker (CYW/CYC) diploma preferred; related education in Social Services, Human Services, Psychology, or a similar field will be considered.
  • Experience supporting children and youth with behavioural, emotional, mental health, developmental, or complex needs.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention, behaviour management, and child and youth development principles.
  • Experience assisting with activities of daily living and supporting individualized care plans.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification; CPI/Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training is an asset.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check as a condition of employment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to person-centered care, professionalism, confidentiality, and safety.

Please note that based on current government mandates and directives, healthcare workers may be required to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. Successful candidates may be required to provide proof of vaccination prior to their start date.

Requirements

A Child and Youth Worker diploma or related education in Social Services, Psychology, or Human Services is preferred. Candidates must have experience supporting children with complex needs and possess current First Aid/CPR certification.
