QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION: Qualified Medical Radiation Technologist; Graduate of a recognized school of training Registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) Registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario Maintain active registry status by obtaining the required 25 hour CME credits each year Previous experience an asset
1. Performs all routine and special procedure X-Rays, as requested by Medical Staff 2. Selects, positions and operates equipment as determined to be desirable for the examination(s) concerned; providing proper patient care 3. Provides Holter and Event Loop Recorder Monitoring 4. Assess the diagnostic quality of radiographic images and takes appropriate corrective action, as required. Records if a doctor is informed of pathology seen and if a STAT read has been requested 5. Knowledgeable of and consistently make use of good radiation protection methods and techniques. Ensures adequate protection for his/herself, for client, and his/her family, and for the public (ALARA principle) 6. Maintains X-ray and CR equipment in efficient operating condition, dealing with most minor breakdowns 7. Records any and all problems with equipment 8. Maintains cleanliness of assigned work area 9. Day-to-day operation of the department (i.e., appointments and related office procedures; including shredding confidential files, preparing CDs, stocking appointment forms, holter forms, fax forms, etc.) 10. Must actively participate in the departmental quality assurance program 11. Responsible for working on a rotational basis or as scheduled on call in evenings, weekends and holidays. 12. Performs other related duties as may be required by Administrator or his/her designate. 13. Have an understanding of CR and PACS systems.
