About the role

The X-Ray Technologist performs standardized and complex diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring equipment maintenance and safety. They are also responsible for maintaining radiation safety standards and assisting in the training of new staff and students.

Insight is currently seeking X Ray Technologists to join our dynamic and expanding team. This is a permanent, full-time position that requires evening and weekend shifts, with rotation across our 17 locations in Edmonton and the surrounding area.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares and performs a variety of standardized and/or complex procedures as set forth by the Radiologists and our referring Physicians.
  • Responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of all equipment.
  • DI Equipment: Must have working knowledge of all equipment and ensure all units are functioning correctly.
  • Responsible for maintaining safety and the general care and cleanliness of the radiographic area, with particular attention to radiation safety and infection control.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and all DI office duties.
  • Assist in the training of new staff and students, as requested by MGM.
  • Willingness to cross train in BD, Fluoroscopy and ECG’s.

  • Committed to excellence in patient care, quality control and adherence to diagnostic imaging standards.
  • Clinical competency in medical radiography.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures and practices.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • MRT(R)/CLXT designation in good standing CAMRT, ACMDTT or ACCLXT.
  • Bone Density and Pain Management trained preferred.
  • Medication preparation certificate is preferred.
  • CPR Standard First aid certificate is an asset.
