About the role

Provide technical support for diagnostic testing and laboratory procedures across clinical departments. Responsibilities include processing biological specimens, performing routine analyses, and maintaining laboratory equipment and quality control standards.

Job Summary Provide technical support for diagnostic testing and laboratory procedures across clinical departments.

Ensure accurate specimen processing, testing, and documentation while following safety and quality standards.

Number of Positions 3 Main Duties Collect, receive, label, process and prepare biological specimens for testing according to established protocols.

Perform routine diagnostic tests and analyses using manual and automated laboratory equipment.

Calibrate, maintain and perform basic troubleshooting on laboratory instruments and equipment.

Conduct quality control checks, participate in proficiency testing, and document corrective actions to ensure result accuracy.

Record, validate and report test results in laboratory information systems and communicate findings to clinical staff as required.

Maintain inventory of supplies, manage specimen storage and disposal, and ensure compliance with biohazard and workplace safety procedures.

Requirements

Completion of a diploma or certificate program in medical laboratory technology, clinical laboratory sciences, or a related field, or equivalent training. Previous experience or practicum experience in a clinical laboratory or diagnostic testing environment is preferred. Working knowledge of laboratory safety practices, infection prevention, and hazardous materials handling. Familiarity with common diagnostic instruments, analyzers, and basic equipment maintenance procedures. Proficiency with computers and experience entering and managing data in laboratory information systems. Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and capacity to work as part of a team. Required Skills Specimen collection, handling and processing techniques. Operation, calibration and troubleshooting of diagnostic laboratory equipment. Quality control procedures and adherence to standard operating procedures. Data entry and use of laboratory information systems. Analytical thinking and attention to detail for accurate test interpretation. Clear communication and teamwork within multidisciplinary clinical settings.
