Function as a member of the Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) or Tertiary Mental Health Services multidisciplinary care team.

Ensure timely, responsive, evidence-based treatment and clinical supports for persons with serious severe and persistent mental health problems and/or problematic substance use and/or development disability issues who may or may not be in crisis.

Provide assessment, treatment, case management, community support, and urgent response as required.

Provide care for clients with serious functional impairment across physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life domains.

Act as a primary clinician using specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups, and/or their families.

Provide services within the Mental Health & Substance Use (MHSU) Supervised Consumption Services team

Position Summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) to join our Mental Health & Substance Use (MHSU) Supervised Consumption Services team at Kamloops Mental Health in Kamloops, BC. Previous experience with the marginalized, homeless population would be helpful. This is a Casual opportunity. Casual Employees are not guaranteed hours of work and can range from 0-37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis. Requirements

Graduation from an approved school of nursing.

Two years’ recent related MHSU experience in the assigned clinical area(s) (e.g., Counselling & Treatment Services; Treatment, Support & Recovery Services; Crisis Response; Seniors MHSU Services; Substance Use; Developmental Disability Mental Health Services (DDMHS)) or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Current valid B.C. driver’s license.

Understanding of supervised consumption services.

Knowledge of harm reduction principles.

Ability to work with clients with complex mental health and substance use disorders.

Previous experience with the marginalized, homeless population would be helpful
