About the Role

Reporting to the Manager of Oncology Pharmacy, the successful candidate will work in collaboration with the Oncology Team. Functions include preparation of chemotherapy, sterile & non-sterile preparations, inventory management, obtaining best possible medication lists from patients, refilling of automated dispensing cabinets, and extemporaneous preparations. What you bring: Licensed by OCP, education obtained from an accredited Pharmacy technician program (CCAPP accredited = Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs) Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technicians Demonstrated computer skills Demonstrated interpersonal skills, communication and teamwork Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques, pharmaceutical arithmetic, and pharmaceutical terminology Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork Demonstrated individual leadership skills Experience in hospital Pharmacy preferred Experience in handling of hazardous drugs preferred Experience with aseptic technique preferred. Experience with Clinical Trials preferred. Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal Demonstrated analytical and problem assessment skills Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all. Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for staff and clients within a challenging and exciting health care environment. What you'll be doing: Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills. Ability to work well in stressful situations Demonstrates good communication skills, including strong documentation skills Demonstrates ability to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff and the community Engages in ethical conduct and strives to understand and appreciate the diversity of our patient/staff population and community Demonstrates an understanding of sterile compounding procedures, safe handling of hazardous drugs, and the NAPRA standards.
