Requirements summary
Post-secondary education or training in child and youth care, counselling, psychology, sociology, social work, or related fields.
Experience working with and supporting vulnerable clients with challenging adaptive behaviours and/or complex care needs (e.g., developmental disabilities).
Experience working toward individualized goals with clients through recreational, vocational, life skills, daily living or educational programs in a collaborative, team-based context.
Ability to provide care and support in a home-like or 24/7 living environment.
Strong awareness of intergenerational trauma and understanding of adverse childhood experiences.

Who We Are
Transitional Support Services provides trauma-informed and relationship-based care to children and youth through therapeutic group homes and outreach services. The young people we work with have often experienced trauma and loss and may present with a wide range of adaptive behaviours. Your role We are looking for Transitional Support Workers who are dedicated to creating safe and supportive environments for our children and youth, and who are committed to working from an empathetic and strengths-based approach. This takes energy, patience, adaptability, creativity and flexibility in the workplace. We are looking for individuals who are able to remain calm and focused during crisis. An individual who has excellent decision making skills, and who are reliable. Additionally, we are looking for individuals who understand, and are committed to, working collaboratively in a Yukon First Nation cultural context, and who have a strong understanding of intergenerational trauma.
